Portugal and Spain Shine at the World Culinary Awards

The World Culinary Awards is a prestigious global initiative that recognizes and celebrates excellence in the culinary industry. From the best restaurants to standout destinations, these awards spotlight the places where gastronomy reaches new heights. This year, the awards once again confirmed the Iberian Peninsula as a powerhouse in the culinary world.

Lisbon has been voted, for the first time, as Europe’s Best Culinary City Destination. This isn’t any surprise knowing this city is home to an impressive 17 Michelin-starred spaces.

But that’s not all – Porto also won the award for Europe’s Best Emerging Culinary City Destination and Vila Joya in Albufeira, led by two-Michelin-starred chef, is the new Best Fine Dining Hotel Restaurant in Europe.

Spain also shines, with Andreu Genestra Restaurant named Europe’s Best New Restaurant.

Spain and Portugal are undeniably at the forefront of the culinary world, offering exceptional experiences and placing them among the top locations for food lovers seeking unforgettable gastronomic journeys.
